When working in your job, wherever you work, always give your work your full attention. Enjoy your job, no matter how mundane, and give it 100%. This is the way to progress through your working life. If you are working at a cash register in a supermarket, it is just as easy to be helpful and nice to customers and it is much more fun. Do this and you will always have work… and you will always be happy in your working life.

Helpful Tips for applying for part time jobs.

Before going in to ask for work, stop and think what you could do to make a difference in your new job. If you “just need the money” you will probably not come across very well.

Don’t get your parents to ask on your behalf. I wouldn’t want someone who is scared to ask for a job. It is unlikely that person will be confident in dealing with the public.

Always smile and appear friendly. Practise this! It is crucial to have a friendly attitude to customers. I want to employ young people who can look at the customers and smile while serving  them. It makes a huge difference to the customer and it is good practice for later life.
